Hello! I am new to Dayton and new to NaNoWriMo and was wondering if there is anything going on this year? I see last year there was a kick-off party.....
Many thanks to Damien, e_lazardo, for the awesome photos of the 2005 Dayton NaNoWriMo Kick Off!!!
This takes you to the photobucket subalbum with all of the lovely pictures on it! Whee!!!
Again, thanks Damien!
This is a test post from Photobucket.com
I just wanted to remind you of our Kick Off Party.
When: Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 7:00pm
Place: Therapy Cafe, 452 E. Third Street, Dayton, OH 45402.
Who: You, silly people. You and anyone you want to rope into the madness! Spread the LOVE!!!
I will be present in the lovey ML t-shirt which is bright, safety shirt Yellow. Find me (as if you won't be able to spot the shirt) and so I can put faces with names.
Any food and beverage you purchase is your obligation for this one. I do, however, have Official Swag and other goodies. There are doorprizes and other fun things planned. So, head over to the RSVP thread in the Forums and let me know if you're coming.
Don't worry, you can still come if you don't RSVP. I'm just doing this as a curtesy to the Cafe to give them an idea of how many people will be showing up.
If anyone has any questions, you can email me, pm me, YM me (hastyent), post on the forums, or hire a Skywriter. If you need a ride, feel free to drop me a note or give me a call.
I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!

Panera again this week (in Fairborn, OH)
If anyone needs a ride, you can text or call me at 937-304-7028. Emailing won't help, unless you email someone else to call me. Hermione the Wonder Laptop will be packed up. If you call between say 1pm and 330pm, you'll get my voicemail. There are no phones at bookclub. :D
x-posted to the WriMo Forums and yahoogroup
7pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Therapy Cafe. I should have swag by then. It'll be a good place for those who want to write and those who want to have a non-writing experience.

Hello and Welcome to the 2005 NaNoWriMo for Dayton, Ohio!
This year, we have had some exciting new developments. Firstly, we have our own forum, which is amazing and brilliant. Here we can talk about all the things we want to talk about without having it all in one thread! WHEEE!!! Also, Lauren, thelunarbee, is a Goddess in my world and has taken up the banner for me while I was on hiatus in Salem, MA. So, thank you, Lauren, publically.
This year, I am hoping to run two pre-November workshops (not that I’m qualified, but eh…who’s counting?). One is on Character Development and the other on World Building. If anyone wants to volunteer to lead these, I would happily give up the responsibility. Otherwise, I get to do it! Yay!! Does anyone else have great ideas for pre-November workshops? Go ahead and shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or Dayton_oh@nanowrimo.org or post on the thread I will create when I am done typing this long, long letter.
Third, I am hoping to have bi-weekly meet-ups this year since there are many more of us and we are more spread out over the city. Obviously, one does not need to come to both, but hey! Why not?!!? I would like to keep the Sunday date and time and fix that in the south of Dayton either at Borders or Panera (if it opens in time). There is the question of the other location and date. I would like to fix it in Fairborn, probably at the Panera, but this is not set in stone. Does anyone have a preference? If I don’t get a preference, I’ll fix it and make the announcement.
Lastly, as a plug for the Writer’s Group, we are available on a yahoogroup at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dayton_writers/. It’s another great place to find out what’s going on in the area as far as writing goes. We keep this open all year round for your writing needs!
That is all for the newish developments. I, for one, am very excited about this year. I have actually started to research my novel and have completely tossed the idea. YAY! I’m not entirely certain what I’m doing, if I’ll go back to the research or write the rabid plot bunny that is chewing on my brain right now.
If you all need to contact me, you can drop me a note on the site, email me at email@example.com or Dayton_oh@nanowrimo.org. You can drop a line at the yahoogroup, or on my messengers. I use googletalk (which is great, even if plainjane) with merihastyent and yahoo on the same name. I’m on googletalk nearly all night when I’m at work.
Welcome, again, and Good Luck!
